     Valves

Since many decades Elettronica Aster design valves for a wide range of applications.
Many components are constituted by a manifold and several cartridge valves, controlled by solenoids or lever.
The apparatus are designed for the common aircraft pressure condition of 207bar (3000psi) or 276bar (4000psi). All the components are qualified with Military and Customer Specifications.
All the items can manufactured with proper port adapter as required by the Customer.
They hydraulic components comprise:
· Reservoirs, boot-strap or non pressurized type;
· Accumulators (bellow, piston, …)
· Filtering modules;
· Service Valves for control (flow, pressure, direction, …).

    Actuators & Servo Actuators

Several kinds of Actuators and Servo Actuators, Fly by Wire (FBW) or manual., are designed and presently in use in helicopter and aerospace applications.
The Servo-Actuators are controlled typically by a feedback system: position sensors (LVDT) or pressure transducers permit to monitor the main characteristics value, and control servovalves and solenoids to guarantee the defined setpoint.
Otherwise the Actuators are constituted by a manifold and several cartridge valves, piloted by solenoids or lever.
The apparatus are designed for the common aircraft pressure condition of 207bar (3000psi) or 276bar (4000psi). All the components are qualified with Military and Customer Specifications.
All the items can manufactured with proper port adapter as required by the Customer.

    Wheel & Rotor Brakes

Brake and braking systems, including pumps, are developed specifically for helicopter applications.
A complete Brake System is constituited by:
·  -  Wheel or Rotor Brakes (with friction pads)
·  - Pressure switch check sensor
·  - Hand or Foot Pump

    Heat Exchangers

In the years from 1990 Elettronica Aster has acquired capability in the design and manufacturing of Heat Exchanger realized according to particular customer's requirements.
These are cold plates used for cooling electronic components with liquid. Heat is transferred from the hot electronic components to the surface of an aluminum plate and then to the cooling liquid which flows in a coil machined in the plate.
A cover plate is usually bonded or dip brazed to the cold plate, forming a flow path for the cooling fluid which contacts the surface for maximum heat transfer.
These processes are also the result of previous experience in bonding and brazing of radar antenna components.
The cold plate surface is precision machined to ensure the thermal contact with the hot electronic components.
Heat Exchangers are designed and manufactured according particular customer requirements. Particular techniques are used in order to satisfy the needs the functional and installation characteristics. The application of specific processes like bonding, welding, dip or vacuum brazing are evaluated time by time.
These plates are developed for aerospace electronics and use Coolanol 25R or Poliyalphaolefin (PAO) as coolant fluid. They are aluminum plates jointed by vacuum brazing technology and 100% verified to be leak-free.
The particular construction allows to produce tin-wall plates (1.5 mm) maintaining a high stiffness; their lightweight provide a high stiffness-to-weight ratio. Fittings are provided for hydraulic connection.
Particular applications are also studied

   Winches

With our well developed knowledge in aero-hydraulic system and the partnership of an European Company, since 1995 were started some activities on winches like rescue hoist, for search and rescue (SaR) operation, and cargo winch.
The newest type of floor winch system is hydraulically driven and is installed on the NATO Helicopter NH90.
It is electrically controlled by an operator using a Pendant Grip. All the working condition are monitored during the operations, by an Electronic Control Box that provides the user with the most significant indications like the operating conditions and failures.
All the valves such as the hydraulic m
otor are cartridge type.
